Hi, I'm kortney

am so excited you're here. I'm Kortney, most people call me Kort. I'm a small town southeast Iowa girl through and through. I love the slow country life living, spending time with my 3 corgis, 2 cats and 13 chickens. I'm usually listening to 90's country music and enjoying a glass of moscato.

My favorite sessions are the ones where you get to be your authentic self! I always tell people "come as you are" and I mean that 100%. I want your session to portray who you really are as a person/family.

it all started at the louisa county fair

My background story

started taking pictures through
4-H. Every year I would enter a couple pictures into the fair (and yes the goal sheets were filled out the night before).

Before long, my projects at fair consisted of sheep and photography. After I graduated high school I went to DMACC where I took my first photography class. While taking the class I fell in love with photography and it's been full steam ahead since.

I struggled with finding a name for my business in the beginning. I didn't want it to be just my name, I wanted something unique. I wanted to mesh my love for showing sheep and photography together. After a lot of brainstorming Bewetiful Moments Photography was born.

Life

My family has always been a huge part of my life. They have been my number 1 fans in everything I've done, especially with this business. I wouldn't be half the woman I am today if it wasn't for them.
When I'm not behind the camera or with my animals you can almost bet I'll be with my family.

When I've been on the road they are the first ones I call on my way home. They always love to hear about how a show or session went. I love sending them my favorite pictures after I get done editing and hearing their reactions. They are the ones who listen, let me vent, and support me in all aspects of my life.

It's no secret I'm an animal lover through and through. My mom often calls me her little "Elly May" from the Clampett's because I'm always making a plan for what animal I'm going to purchase next.

My corgi's will always have my heart, especially my Daisy Mae. She was so great, I bought two more, Dallas and Maesie.

Fun fact, in 2024 I started raising chickens and have since become a full blown crazy chicken lady.

I one day hope to have livestock to give kids who don't have the facilities the opportunity to show like I was given.

I chose Kortney because of how open and willing she was to my ideas. I got to take the pictures how I wanted and she really helped me know what to do throughout each photo. I have also had many photos already taken by Kortney with my livestock and because of that I already knew that she was going to do an amazing job adjusting to working with my horse.

We had Bewetiful Moments Photography take my senior session photos and could not be more happy with how the photos turned out! Before choosing, we looked around at different places and their work and liked the quality of Kortney’s pictures. She was super sweet and very flexible with us on time and days for the pictures. I thought she was very easy to work with and overall had a great time! We were able to dish off of each other’s ideas and the pictures were sent back to us within a very good time and looked great!

Truly thankful that our paths crossed at a pig show backdrop years ago! Kortney is easy to work with and comfortable around livestock. We enjoy doing family pictures with our livestock which is sometimes unpredictable but Kortney is always patient and understanding. We have some of the best photos on our walls because of Kortney!
When it came time to schedule senior pictures, there was no question who we wanted to take them. Kortney didn't bat an eye at any of our crazy ideas and was excited to make them happen! She happily met us in the early morning hours at the state fair to get the perfect pictures that captured our daughter in one of her favorite places.
